Peter knew what it was to love Jesus and still fall short. He had denied Him. But in John 21:15–17, Jesus spoke with Peter, asked him about his love, and called him to care for His sheep.
That’s the heart behind this design. Failure was part of Peter’s story, but Jesus still had work for him to do.
